This light reflection on growing up in a close-knit family of three sisters has a sensibility earmarked for teenagers, and should particularly connect to girls.
The movie's visual pleasures and idiosyncrasies may make for lively animation, but as a narrative film, "Virus Tropical" feels more like a sketch.
"A remarkable animated film that, without neglecting its very specific cultural specificity ends up becoming an emotive universal story of growth, maturation and feminine self-knowledge".
The film has many more errors than hits and does not achieve a solid and coherent discourse, on the contrary, according to what you will see here, the film is shaky and uninteresting. [Full Review in Spanish]
This adaptation to the cinema of the graphic novel of Power Paola fulfills in its form, although perhaps its proposal of content is not for all the tastes. [Full Review in Spanish]
Its vivid black-and-white animation is so distinct that it turns the artist's life into a bold, dizzying ride.
A film about the adventure that is the life we all live while we're waiting for our grand adventure to begin.
Appealingly intricate animation is the main selling point of this coming-of-age story which captures, perhaps a little too authentically, the self absorption of adolescence.
